Tamarind House Restaurant & Bar on Rarotonga is a restored heritage colonial house set on 2.5 acres of lawns sweeping down to the beach. It is situated three-minute's drive from the Avarua town centre on there main road.
Originally built by the Union Steamship Company around 1910, the house later became the residence of the British Consul until leased by well-known Rarotonga restauranteurs, Sue Carruthers and Robert Brown at the end of 2003.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday - Morning Coffee from 10.00am; Thursday to Friday - Lunch from 11.30am to 2.30pm; Monday to Saturday - Dinner from 6.00pm. Closed on Saturday during the day. Weddings a speciality.
